Former Pakistan skipper Wasim Akram was disappointed with his team's bowling performance in the match against India. The Men in Green after back to back losses are in a critical situation.
They do not have any more control of their future in this tournament in their own hands. Apart from winning their final match against Bangladesh, Pakistan needs a few other things to go their way to still stay alive in this tournament.

We Are Playing Archaic Cricket- Wasim Akram On Pakistan's Cricketing Standards
Meanwhile, Wasim Akram was heavily disappointed and has made an all-out attack on Mohammad Rizwan and his men for playing poorly in the tournament so far. He said that the side needs to make massive changes in their ODI setup to match the modern standards of cricket.
“Drastic steps needed. We are playing archaic cricket in white-ball for ages. “This need to change. Bring fearless cricketers, young blood into the team. If you have to make five-six changes. Please make it" Wasim Akram said on the show Dressing Room.
Akram also highlighted how the Pakistan bowling attack in white-ball cricket is equivalent to that of Oman or USA.
“Enough is enough. You have made them the stars. In the last five ODIs, Pakistan bowlers have managed to get 24 wickets at an average of 60. That is 60 runs per wicket. Our average is even poor than Oman and USA. In 14 teams who are playing ODIs, Pakistan’s bowling average is second worst,” he said.

He further questioned Pakistan's team selection for the Champions Trophy 2025. The side selected only one specialist spinner in Abrar Ahmed. There was no place for the likes of Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz in the side.
“Khusdil Shah and Salam Agha did they ever looked like taking wickets? I am literally shouting for weeks that this squad is not good but chairman said they have assembled the best squad. A day before the Champions Trophy, they did a meeting for an hour but they came out with the same squad" said Wasim.
Akram concluded by saying that the Pakistan skipper Mohammad Rizwan also needs to be blamed for the team selection as well.
“Even captain (Rizwan) is to blame. He is the leader of the ship and if he doesn’t know what kind of match-winner he needs. Its getting embarrassing now" Akram concluded saying.
Pakistan play their final match against Bangladesh on February 27 in Rawalpindi.
