New Zealand and Mumbai Indians (MI) all-rounder Amelia Kerr's terrific spell of (5/38) restricted UP Warriorz (UPW) to just 150 for 9 in the ongoing Women's Premier League (WPL). Kerr bowled beautifully in the middle phase of the innings and managed to strangulate UPW's middle and lower-order batters. After a terrific start by UPW's openers Georgia Voll (55), and Grace Harris (28), who put on 74 runs for the first wicket, things went downhill for the home side.
UPW kept losing wickets in clusters as they could not finish on a bang on a relatively good batting surface at Ekana Stadium. Apart from Kerr, off-spinner Hayley Matthews chipped in with two wickets. However, it was Kerr's spell that turned the tide in MI's favor. UPW's middle order yet again failed to make an impact as Kiran Navgire (0), Deepti Sharma (27), and Vrinda Dinesh (10) departed cheaply.

UPW finishes on a below-par score, MI batters will fancy to chase the target down
With UPW finishing below 160, MI batters will fancy to chase the total down with five overs to spare. Their batters are in good form, with the likes of Sciver-Burnt, Harmanpreet Kaur, and Matthews among the runs. UPW's spinners need to step up, or else it will be an easy win for MI.
