The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad hosts the second game of IPL 2025 at 3:30 PM IST on March 23, pitting Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) against Rajasthan Royals (RR).
Last season, SRH lit up the IPL, hammering a record 178 sixes and clinching second place. They sent RR packing in Qualifier 2, only to crash in the final versus Kolkata Knight Riders.
Pat Cummins captains a revamped SRH crew, keeping their main players from the last season, Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy. Fresh signings Ishan Kishan, Mohammad Shami, Harshal Patel and Adam Zampa have made their line-up more formidable.
Rajasthan Royals ended last season at the third position. They head into the 18th edition of the IPL, releasing many of their star players. Jos Butter, Trent Boult and Yuzvendra Chahal will not be seen in the RR jersey this time.
Sanju Samson Riyan Parag, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel, Shimron Hetmyer, Sandeep Sharma, Jofra Archer, and Wanindu Hasaranga form their core. Riyan Parag will take over the captaincy for the first few matches as Samson will play as a pure batter due to a finger injury.
