Delhi Capitals (DC) won an absolute thriller of a match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Vizag as finisher Ashutosh Sharma sealed the game for DC. The right-hand batter struck a 31-ball 66 and finished the match with a six, with three balls to go. The match went right down to the wire, with DC requiring six runs off the last six balls. However, the number 11 batter Mohit Sharma was on the crease. He botched the first ball, but gave the strike to Ashutosh in the second ball.

LSG bowler Shahbaz bowled the last over. However, he missed his length and bowled a full delivery, which was dispatched for a straight six by Ashutosh to seal the game. The DC finisher walked in at the crease at 65 for five. At that time, the required run rate was above 12 runs per over. But Ashutosh remained calm and composed and kept chipping away at boundaries. What stood out about his innings was his use of feet and clean striking.

Giving him company was Vipraj Nigam, who chipped in with a blistering 15-ball 39 cameo. LSG, who had the match in the pocket at the halfway stage, failed to close out the innings as Ashutosh stunned them with a terrific assault.

At the halfway stage, the game was done and dusted, with only one team winning. However, Ashutosh had a different idea. He carefully started the innings and was 19 runs off 20 balls. However, what followed in the next 11 balls was absolute carnage as he targeted pacer Prince Yadav and leg spinner Bishnoi. The DC batter took the game deep and helped win the game by just one wicket.
