Indian Captain Rohit Sharma Provides Crucial Update on His Hamstring Injury

Rohit Sharma recovered

Indian Captain Rohit Sharma provided an update on his hamstring injury, noting that he is recovering well and was able to recover in time for the batting after his team defeated Pakistan by six wickets in Dubai. Rohit Sharma was briefly missing during the middle overs, particularly between 15 and 25th overs, and Shubman Gill filled in as captain. Then it was found that Rohit Sharma was having hamstring issues and had to leave the pitch for a few overs to rest.

Rohit Sharma gave this update during the post-match presentation stating “It(hamstring) is okay at the moment”. 

India defeated Pakistan comfortably by 6 wickets in Dubai, with Virat Kohli's 51st ODI century leading the team to a comfortable chase.

Rohit Sharma praised Virat Kohli for his amazing century and added there were no doubts regarding the form of the ace batter in the dressing room 

"He loves representing the country. He wants to be out there playing for the team, doing what he does best which is to go out there and do what he did today. Over the years, we've seen it with him. People sitting inside the dressing room are not surprised by what he has done. It was good for him to be out there in the middle, finish the game off."

Later Rohit Sharma praised his bowling unit for restricting Pakistan to a modest total picking u wickets at the right moment to put Pakistan on the backfoot.

"The way we started with the ball was superb. To restrict them to that kind of score was a great effort from the bowling unit. We knew it gets slightly better to bat under lights, and gets slower as well. If you look at the bowling unit performance, everyone came to the party and did exactly what was required on that pitch," the Indian captain said.

Rohit Sharma added 20 runs in the chase his Knock gave India the rapid start with 3 fours and 1 six before he was dismissed by a beautiful yorker by Shaheen Afridi.
