Former Pakistan batter and current YouTuber Basit Ali recently shared his thoughts on the Champions Trophy 2025 on his YouTube channel. He expressed that Indian batsmen Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Shubman Gill would likely have scored more runs had they played all their matches in Pakistan.
"Indian batters will miss this opportunity. The kind of players they have—Rohit Sharma, Gill, Virat, and Iyer—these top four could score 200 runs if they get in," Basit Ali stated.Â
While reviewing the South Africa vs. New Zealand semi-final match that took place in Lahore, Basit noted that Indian batsmen would have found the pitch favorable for easy stroke play and would have enjoyed their batting experience.

He also praised Rachin Ravindra for his impressive performance in the Champions Trophy, specifically highlighting his match-winning century against South Africa in the knockout game. Basit believes Ravindra has the potential to become part of the 'Fab Four' in the future.Â
“Ravindra is a very elegant player. He is a player who will be in the Fab Four in the days to come,” he added.
Furthermore, Basit lauded Kane Williamson for his significant contribution in setting a mammoth score of 362. He appreciated Williamson's ability to pace his innings and shift gears at the right moments to support Rachin Ravindra.
"With him, his elder brother also made a hundred. The way he was guiding Ravindra was a joy to watch. Williamson went to him right away and advised him to play positively. This is the role of a senior player. Although Williamson played slowly, he was able to accelerate when needed."

Basit Ali also commended Mitchell Santner for his valuable leadership as captain of the New Zealand team. He reflected on how Santner implemented effective captaincy strategies and made key bowling changes, similar to how MS Dhoni managed his team during the IPL.
“Santner's captaincy was brilliant. He made changes to the bowlers and positioned fielders effectively—these decisions are crucial.
He has played under MS Dhoni’s captaincy and has applied those lessons here. New Zealand used seven bowlers, keeping the conditions in Dubai in mind. I think they will now strengthen their batting and utilize spinners more,” he said.
