Rajasthan Royals (RR) are gearing up for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, determined to recapture the magic of their 2008 championship win. Famous for spotting raw talent, the Jaipur-based team has assembled a formidable squad after the recent auction.
Rahul Dravid has been appointed as the head coach of the team. Captain Sanju Samson will lead the charge, backed by a mix of young stars and seasoned players. Apart from Samson, Rajasthan retained Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel, Shimron Hetmyer and Sandeep Sharma.
Bowling is where they have really shaken things up. Jofra Archer, who was snapped up at INR 12.50 crore, is back. And with the addition of Wanindu Hasaranga, spin is going to be a weapon, especially on those slow tracks. Few of their other notable buys include the names of Tushar Deshpande, Maheesh Theekshana, Nitish Rana and Akash Madhwal.

Batting Analysis
Top Order
Rajasthan Royals' top-order has everything that one can ask for. Jaiswal hits hard from the start and is very consistent. Samson, like his opening partner, can be very explosive and calculative at the same time. Nitish Rana brings calm and know-how, adding stability to this line-up.
Middle Order
Parag had a coming of age season last year and is one of the best domestic batters in the circuit. Hetmyer has a knack of finishing matches and has done that a lot of times in the past. However, Jurel, despite showing promise in his debut season, could not replicate it in the previous year. If he also fires, Rajasthan have nothing to worry about.
Lower Order
Hasaranga and Archer can swing the bat but they are not very reliable. Theekshana, Sandeep and Madhwal form the tail and do not possess any batting skills at all.

Bowling analysis
Pace Attack
Archer bowls fast and is a wicket-taker but his fitness is a worry after past injuries. Sandeep swings it early and nails yorkers in the death overs, making him an asset. Madhwal grabs wickets but lacks big experience. He is still finding his feet. They are a good trio if Archer holds up. Rajasthan can also try Tushar Deshpande instead of Madhwal. Yudhvir Singh, Fazalhaq Farooqi and Kwena Maphaka are some of the other pace-bowling options.
Spin Attack
Rajasthan Royals' spin unit prominently includes Hasaranga, Theekshana and Kumar Kartikeya. While Kartikeya might not make the starting XI, Hasaranga and Theekshana would have to do the heavy lifting on this front. The Sri Lankan duo can be very effective but there are days when they go for runs.
