Rohit Sharma CT Win

Indian cricket fans came down hard on Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Multan Sultans after they tried to mock Indian skipper Rohit Sharma. It was a gimmick from there end which cost them dearly.

Rohit recently won the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 as India captain. The Men in Blue defeated New Zealand in the final in Dubai. There were a lot of talks about India enjoying home advantage in Dubai which the skipper and the Indian management denied accepting.

In the post-match press conference, a journalist asked Rohit Sharma to equate the CT title win to that of a World Cup win. That was a reminder from the journalist about India's loss to Australia in the World Cup final.

Rohit, in his response, spoke about how hard it was for the team to win the title despite all the criticism they faced.

"Woh 50-over World Cup Gold Cup jaisa hai, lekin isme bhi koi kami nahin hai. Aap mujhe pucho kitna woh lagta hai yeh jeetne ke liye" in a humours tone.

Meanwhile, the PSL Sultans who are the defending champions of the Pakistan Super League, equated winning the PSL title with Rohit's comments on the CT title win.

Indian Fans School PSL Franchise Multan Sultans For Criticism On Rohit Sharma

Indian fans were very quick to school the franchise as they gave them apt responses on social media.

The Indian skipper further in his post-match comments said that the Champions Trophy victory was a team effort and achievement and staying unbeaten in two ICC events is not a piece of cake.

"It is a great team achievement for the team to win two ICC trophies and to go undefeated is the icing on the cake. I have seen very few teams that have won two tournaments undefeated. For us, the most important thing was that we come here and prepared and played the opposition. We used the conditions well and won. Future plan... there's no future plan, whatever is happening will keep happening" Rohit added.
