The Champions Trophy 2025 tournament concluded after 20 days, featuring a total of 15 matches. India emerged as the best among the 8 teams, defeating New Zealand to win the title. The post-match presentation and closing ceremony took place in Dubai, where trophies, white blazers, and individual awards were presented to the respective teams and players.
Attending the ceremony were ICC Chairman Jay Shah, BCCI President Roger Binny, and BCCI Secretary Devajit Sakia. However, there were no representatives from Pakistan, the official host of the tournament, at the post-match ceremony. Although India played all its matches in Dubai, Pakistan still held a small opening ceremony for the tournament.

Former Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar commented on this absence, sharing a video on social media and labelling it as Strange!
India have won the Champions Trophy, but I noticed something rather strange. There wasn't a single representative from the PCB on the podium, even though Pakistan was the host of the tournament. I can't understand why no one was there to represent the country. It's beyond me to even think about. There should have been someone on this world stage. Unfortunately, I didn't see any PCB members out there," Shoaib Akhtar said in a video posted on social media
Shoaib Akhtar pointed out that there was no Pakistan representative during the closing ceremony. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who was expected to attend the final match, sent a representative named Sumair Ahmed in his place.Â
It was later clarified that protocol restrictions prevented employees from being present on the podium; only elected officials from each board were allowed. Since Sumair Ahmed was an employee of the PCB, he was not permitted on the podium, which only featured the board’s office bearer's during the closing ceremony.
