The first season of the Asian Legends League kickstarted with the match between the Asian Stars and Afghanistan Pathans at the Miraj International Cricket Stadium, Udaipur. Afghanistan Pathans won the toss and opt to bat first.
The decision turned out to be a correct one with the Pathan piling up 216/3 in their 20 overs. Former Pakistan cricketer Shoaibscored an unbeaten century off just 63 balls as he maintained a strike rate of 165. he scored an unbeaten 104 with eight fours and as many as seven sixes.
He was ably supported by former Afghanistan skipper Asghar Afghan who scored 65 off 36 balls scoring at a strike rate of over 180. The two batters pummelled the Asian Stars bowlers as they scored in very part of the ground. Together they hit 11 sixes and 15 four in the course of their innings.

Shoaib Khan Smashes Unbeaten 104 Off 63 Balls For Afghanistan Pathans
Khan scored an unbeaten 104 and along with Asghar added a 126-run stand for the third wicket. All the Asian Stars bowlers were expensive and had an economy rate of 10 or more. Former Indian bowlers Pawan Suyal and Ishwar Pandey were the only two wicket-takers for them as they found bowling tough on a flat batting wicket.

Under lights, the ball should come onto the bat even quicker as the Aian Stars get set to chase 217 for victory. So far this has been an enthralling contest with the ball flying to all parts of the ground. There are plenty in store in the run-chase as well.
Someone like Kedar Jadhav who is a big-hitter lower down the order was not picked in the Asian Stars XI in today's match. That might eventually become a deciding factor in the game. Seeing the opposition bowlers go the distance, it will be interesting to see how the Afghanistan bowlers defend the target/
