Team India might play a warm-up match against Bangladesh or UAE before their Champions Trophy starts as per reports. The tournament will begin from February 25. Teams can change their squads till February 13 before that.
A total of eight teams will take part in the ICC event, which is making a comeback after eight years. India is set to open its campaign in the ICC Champions Trophy on February 20 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium against Bangladesh and then face arch-rivals Pakistan in the high-voltage match at the same venue on February 23. India’s third and final Group A match will be played against New Zealand in Dubai on March 2.

India Currently Playing T20I Series Against England
The Indian team is currently playing a white-ball series against England. Meanwhile, the BCCI has already announced India's squad for the Champions Trophy. Several players of that squad are currently on rest and will make a comeback directly in the tournament. Meanwhile, as per reports India are likely to play Bangladesh in a warm-up match. If not Bangladesh they will face UAE. The date of the match is yet to be decided.
India last won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013 under MS Dhoni's captaincy. They reached the final in 2017 under Virat Kohli. Rohit Sharma who recently won the T20 World Cup for India will be aiming to win another ICC event. Shubman Gill was named the vice-captain of India's 15-member side ahead of Hardik Pandya. This came as a surprise to many. Also, Rishabh Pant was chosen ahead of Sanju Samson as the keeper. Pant missed the ODI World Cup at hoe due to his unfortunate injury.
Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah is unlikely to play in the tournament. He is in touch with Kiwi doctor Rowan Schouten who said that Bumrah playing the tournament will be a miracle.
