BCCI team manager Jaydev Shah who was with the Indian team during the Australia tour has quashed rumours regarding any split between Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir.
There were several rumours of the Indian team getting divided into two camps after the Test series loss to Australia. There were also opinions that Gambhir and Rohit disagreed on certain matters in team discussions.
There were also rumours about a rift between Indian captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Gautam Gambhir. These reports came especially after India selected Rishabh Pant over Sanju Samson as the specialist keeper for the Champions Trophy. Gambhir batted for Samson's inclusion in the side but the Kerela cricketer was snubbed from selection. Also, Rohit Sharma and Ajit Agarkar chose Shubman Gill as the vice-captain over Hardik Pandya who was backed by Gambhir.

Everything Fine Between Coach And Captain: BCCI Manager Jaydev Shah
The sequence of events within the Indian team led many to believe that all is not well within the Indian team and especially among the decision-making group. However, Jaydev Shah, President of the Saurashtra Cricket Association and the team manager in the Australia tour has said that everything is fine between the coach and the captain.
"Everything is fine between the coach and the captain, such things happen more when the team is not doing well," Jaydev Shah told Aaj Tak.
He also added that these things happen when the team does not do well. India lost the Test series against Australia 3-1 and were out of the WTC final race. The lack of form from the senior players coupled with the team's failure led these rumours to be circled in the media.

Meanwhile, the team has moved on from the Australia tour. Gautam Gambhir has returned as coach for the England T20I series. The Indian team delivered a brilliant performance at Eden Gardens in Kolkata in the first T20I beating their rivals by seven wickets. It was a complete performance from the T20I side.
Rohit Sharma, meanwhile, did not have a good start in the Ranji Trophy game against Jammu & Kashmir. He was dismissed for just three by pacer Umar Nazir Mir who impressed one and all with his pace. He ratted the Mumbai batting lineup dismissing Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane and Shivam Dube.
