The doctors have now come up with a massive update on the former Bangladesh skipper's health. They said that he regained consciousness and spoke to a few of his family members after an operation on Monday. They further said that he will remain under observation for 48 hours in the coronary care unit (CCU) following his heart surgery.
"He was in good spirits during the toss. When he felt sick, he left the field and went to the hospital. The doctors there did not want to let him leave at the time, but Tamim left anyway" Montu Dutta, the BKSP chief cricket coach, told reporters in the afternoon.
Tamim returned to the ground to participate in the match. One of his family members had even arranged an ambulance for the former Bangladesh skipper in case of an emergency. As it turned out, Tamim could not move and thus could not participate in the game. His condition got worse to such an extent wherein the Mohammedan team physio had to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on him.
