Priyansh Arya, who hails from Delhi, impressed Indian Premier League scouts and received bids from multiple teams. He ultimately secured a contract with Punjab Kings for 20 times his base value, valued at 3.8 crore, during the Mega Auction.
Priyansh first caught the scouts' attention when he hit six sixes in six balls while playing for South Delhi Super Starz against North Delhi Strikers in the Delhi Premier League. In that innings, he led his team to a remarkable score of 308/5 in 20 overs, scoring 120 runs with 10 fours and 10 sixes. This accomplishment remains the highest score ever recorded in the Delhi Premier League.

The 24 year old continued to excel by being selected by Delhi for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where he became the team's top scorer with 220 runs at an average of 31 over 7 matches, including a match-winning century against Uttar Pradesh, where he scored 100 runs off 43 balls, hitting 10 sixes. His teammates affectionately referred to him as the "Ruthless Six Hitter," known for his intent to attack the bowlers.
Despite being shortlisted for the Mini Auction in 2024, Priyansh went unsold. However, he made a significant comeback and secured a substantial contract from Punjab Kings in IPL 2025.

An Impressive Beginning in IPL 2025
In his debut match against the Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad, Priyansh had an impressive start. Although he initially struggled with his shots, he quickly adapted and took the attack to the GT bowlers, Siraj and Rabada. By the end of the powerplay, he was batting at 42 runs off 20 balls, helping his team to a score of 73/1 after 6 overs.
Unfortunately, Rashid Khan dismissed him for 47(23). He gave a fantastic start to PBKS in the powerplay and is definitely one to watch out for in this tournament.
