Ace India Cricket Team batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are set to be retained in the new BCCI Central Contracts under the A+ category. BCCI Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar is set to meet BCCI secretary Devjit Saikia and Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir on 29th March in Guwahati to discuss the contracts of the players.
One of the major discussions has been regarding the contracts of the two superstars. This is primarily since Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja all retired from T20Is after winning the ICC T20 World Cup at Barbados.

Now the question that arose was whether the trio would be retained in the A+ category or be demoted to the A category. But as per a BCCI source quoted by the Times of India, the three players, along with Jasprit Bumrah, will be retained under the A+ category in the new BCCI Central contract list.
"All three will be retained in the highest category, along with Jasprit Bumrah," a BCCI source told the Times of India.

Questions were also raised about Rohit Sharma after his poor form in the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The Hitman failed to live up to his hype, and his spot in the red-ball format was threatened.
But now, after showcasing his worth in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and winning the title, it remains to be seen if he tours England. Meanwhile, there are quite a few players who will be eyeing maiden contracts like Varun Chakravarthy and Nitish Kumar Reddy.
Varun Chakravarthy to be rewarded with maiden BCCI contract?
Spinner Varun Chakravarthy has been the talk of the town off late. He made his way back in the Indian side during the IND vs ENG T20I series. After impressive performances in the shortest format, he was later on drafted into the ODI squad and finally into the Indian squad for the ICC Champions Trophy, replacing the injured Jasprit Bumrah.
Fresh reports claim that Chakravarthy is en route to bagging his maiden BCCI contract. This means the spinner is all set to be a regular player for the Men in Blue.
