The central contracts after prepared by the national selection commitee after discussions with the head coach and secretary (Devajit Saikia) before being placed in front of the Apex Council for approval. It is reported that not all the decision-makers after happy with the inclusion of the likes of Rohit, Kohli, Bumrah and Jadeja in the A+ category.

The likes of KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer might get an elevation as well. Both have been pillars of the Indian middle-order in ODI cricket and played their part in the team's Champions Trophy title win earlier this month in Dubai.
