From going unsold in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 auction, to now being named as captain in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), David Warner's 2025 has got to some start. The southpaw has been named as the captain of Karachi Kings in the upcoming PSL 10 season. The former Aussie opener will now replace Shan Masood as the captain of the Kings, who finished fifth last season and failed to make the playoffs. With the change in leadership, the Kings would be hoping for a change in fortunes as well in the PSL 10 season.
"Big energy. Bigger moves. CAPTAIN WARNER IS READY. DAVID WARNER takes the charge and is ready to lead the #KingsSquad in #HBLPSLX," Karachi Kings captioned the post on Instagram.
Warner comes with a wealth of captaincy experience, as he has led New South Wales, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), and recently the Sydney Thunder (ST) in the Big Bash League (BBL) 2025 season. Warner registered in the PSL draft, after going unsold in the IPL mega auction. Karachi Kings brought the southpaw as their first pick in the platinum category during the PSL 10 Players Draft.
