Young Pakistan pacer Ishanullah has threatened to retire from the Pakistan Super League after going unsold in 2025. He did not find a bidder and said that he will be retiring from the league.
The young pacer took 22 wickets at an average of 15.97 and maintained an economy under 8 in 12 matches in PSL 2023. He was a big reason behind Multan Sultans finishing runners-up in PSL 2023.
His performances in the league helped him make his international debut for Pakistan. He was a part of the ODI and T20I sides for the series against Afghanistan and New Zealand squads. However, he picked up an elbow injury and missed the PSL 2024 season.

He spoke to Geo Super and expressed his disappointment on missing out on from the PSL 2025 draft.
"Not a single franchise contacted me. I just don’t want to play franchise cricket anymore. It’s over after today. I completely boycott it and retire from the PSL. I won’t be seen in the PSL again. I want to represent Pakistan by performing in domestic cricket, not by playing in the PSL"Ishanullah said.
Meanwhile, Multan Sultans owner Ali Tareen revealed the reason why they had to part ways with the young pacer. He said how the surgeon ruled him out from the game for a long period of time post his elbow surgery.
"It is a very sad development, but we got Ihsanullah consulted with a top surgeon, who gave us some really bad news, saying that ‘Guys, I can do the surgery, but no matter what I do, there is so much scarring from his previously botched surgery that his arm will never become perfectly straight, and he will never be able to bowl in the same way because he does not have a straight arm," Tareen said.
No One Contacted Me: Ishanullah
Ishanullah responded back to his comments saying that none of the franchises contacted him and that the world is a selfish place. The young pacer has played just one ODI and four T20Is for Pakistan after making his international debut in 2023.
"No one has contacted me; you know this world is selfish. When someone else finds another person, they go with them. He [Ali Tareen] used to support my performance and talent" Ishanullah concluded saying.
