The IPL 2025 tournament is set to begin in a week. Already, franchises are managing injured players, with some being ruled out of the competition. The teams have named replacements, and so far, four replacement players have been announced. Here are the injury replacements named by the franchises:

1. Chetan Sakariya for Umran Malik (KKR)

Umran Malik suffered an injury during a domestic competition that will sideline him for a few months. He was signed by KKR for a base price of 75 lakhs at the Mega Auction, but it has been determined that he will not recover in time for the tournament. KKR has signed 26-year-old left-arm pacer Chetan Sakariya for 75 lakhs as his replacement. Sakariya was part of the KKR franchise last season, and his journey continues this season as well.

2. Mujeeb Ur Rahman for Allah Ghazanfar (MI)

Allah Ghazanfar, the sensational Afghan spinner, was signed by the Mumbai Indians for 4.8 crore at the Mega Auction. Mumbai won a bidding war against KKR and RCB to secure the 18-year-old's services. Unfortunately, he sustained a fracture while on the Afghanistan tour of Zimbabwe, leading him to miss the Champions Trophy and now the IPL as well, as he has been ruled out for the season. MI has signed the more experienced Mujeeb Ur Rahman as a replacement for Ghazanfar.

3. Wiaan Mulder for Brydon Carse (SRH)

Young all-rounder Brydon Carse was signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for 1 crore at the auction. A dynamic fast bowler with pace and accuracy similar to Mark Wood, he could also bat, making him a steal at the Mega Auction. Unfortunately, Carse suffered an injury to his left toe during the Indian tour, which caused him to miss the Champions Trophy and now his debut IPL season. To replace him, SRH has signed Wiaan Mulder, a pace-bowling all-rounder from South Africa.

4. Corbin Bosch for Lizaad Williams (MI)

Lizaad Williams was signed at the base price by the five-time champions Mumbai Indians at the Mega Auction. He is a decent pacer who gained attention through his performances in SA20 and for the South African T20 team. Unfortunately, Williams suffered a knee injury that has ruled him out of the IPL 2025. MI has announced Corbin Bosch, a breakout star from South Africa who has recently made a mark with his all-round performances in international cricket, as his replacement. Bosch had a contract with Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL, but he has terminated that contract to join the Mumbai Indians for this season’s IPL 2025.

Stay tuned for more updates on the tournament!
