The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the rescheduling of Match 19 of IPL2025 between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to April 8, 2025, at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. This match was originally set for April 6.
In a recent media statement, the BCCI explained that the rescheduling was due to the Ram Navami festival, during which the entire state will be celebrating. Security concerns raised by local authorities prompted the BCCI to move the match date, as the majority of security personnel would be deployed for the festivities, leaving insufficient resources available for the cricket match.

Taking these reasons into account, the BCCI has agreed to the request and rescheduled the match for April 8 at 3:30 PM. Instead of being the only match on that day, it will now be part of a doubleheader.Â
Kolkata Police requested the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) regarding personnel deployment across the city, and authorities recommended moving the game to Tuesday, April 8. The BCCI has accommodated this request.
Later that same evening at 7:30 PM, the Punjab Kings will host the Chennai Super Kings in Chandigarh, as per the original schedule. Therefore, Tuesday, April 8 will feature two matches: KKR vs LSG in the afternoon in Kolkata, followed by Punjab Kings versus Chennai Super Kings (Match No. 22) in New Chandigarh.
