Will IPL 2025 End RCB’s Drought? Virat Kohli’s Meditation Session with Mr. Nags Says It All

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star batter Virat Kohli had fans in stitches during a side-splitting segment with team mascot Mr. Nags on the RCB Insider Show, where the duo tackled everything from social media to RCB’s elusive IPL title in a mock meditation session.

The lighthearted exchange, shared across RCB’s social media, showcased Kohli’s wit as he poked fun at the franchise’s 18-year trophy drought while addressing fans’ hopes for the ongoing 2025 season.

The segment kicked off with Mr. Nags, played by comedian Danish Sait, attempting to decode Kohli’s social media activity. Kohli, playing along, revealed he has dialed back on social media, saying,

"I am in a very interesting space with social media. Currently, I am not in a space where I am engaging too much. You never know about the future, but it definitely needed a reset."

The conversation took a cheeky turn when Nags brought up fans’ newfound optimism, tying RCB’s title chances to the 18th IPL season matching Kohli’s jersey number.

"What, they weren’t feeling it for 18 years? What about 16, 17, or 19?," Kohli said as quoted.

His deadpan delivery made Nags burst into laughter.

Kohli did not stop there. When Nags pressed on whether this was finally RCB’s year, especially since India has now won the T20 World Cup 2024 and the Champions Trophy 2025, Kohli leaned into the team’s rollercoaster reputation, saying,

"With us, it’s never safe."

The line, dripping with self-aware humor, nodded to RCB’s history of near misses, including three final appearances without a trophy.

This season, RCB is in red-hot form with four wins in six games, all of which have been away victories versus Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Mumbai Indians (MI) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). Kohli himself is batting like a dream, piling up 248 runs with three half-centuries.

The Bengaluru-based franchise will next face Punjab Kings on April 18 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

With Kohli leading the charge with the bat, could the 18th season be the one for RCB? For now, the King is keeping it Zen!
