In what is a massive relief for Tamim Iqbal's family, friends & fans, the former Bangladesh captain is discharged from hospital following his cardiac arrest during a domestic game. The southpaw was rushed to hospital after complaining of massive chest pains while playing the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League match on Monday.

The doctors now have given a green signal to the 36-year-old to return home and "hope he will be able to return to cricket soon". The former Bangladesh opener expressed his gratitude to doctors for their "amazing" care on Tuesday, having been treated to angioplasty to relieve a blockage of the arteries.

Doctors to take call on Tamim's return to cricket after 3-4 months

According to reports, the doctors have reportedly revealed that the medical board will meet in 3-4 months to decide on Tamim's return to cricket. After calling it quits to his international career, the southpaw is involved in playing domestic cricket. Apart from that, the former Bangladesh captain is also seen in broadcasting.

Tamim was one of the broadcasters for the T20 World Cup in 2024. With cricket being the southpaw's passion, he would be keen to return to the cricket field after completely recovering from the heart stroke.
