Pant spoofs Gavaskar

The captain of the Lucknow Super Giants, Rishabh Pant, humorously spoofed a comment made by Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. The video quickly went viral, entertaining fans ahead of the upcoming season.

During the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, India was losing wickets rapidly, and runs were hard to come by. Rishabh Pant, who was at the crease, attempted to accelerate the scoring and play his natural game. However, his slog sweep found a fielder, resulting in his dismissal. Frustrated, Sunil Gavaskar, who was in the commentary box, referred to Pant's shot selection as "stupid."

In a new video, Rishabh Pant humorously spoofed Gavaskar's remark, which gained significant attention online. Pant managed to portray this in a light-hearted way without appearing offended by Gavaskar’s comment, demonstrating his maturity. However, some fans criticized him for being reckless in this act. The video, which appeared to be behind-the-scenes footage from an ad shoot, was not fully understood until it was released on the internet.

As for Sunil Gavaskar's reaction to Pant's spoof, it remains unknown, and fans are eagerly waiting to hear his thoughts. Despite the comment, Gavaskar is known to admire Pant and has been supportive of him, especially during his comeback season after his accident. He encouraged Pant following a match in the 2023 season where he faced criticism for his slow batting, stating, "

Rishabh, Sunil here. I have never seen you down, and I don’t ever want to see you down. I just want to see a smile on your face. Never mind the result. There are plenty of matches to come." Pant responded with a faint smile, saying, "I will try my best, sir."

Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant and the Lucknow Super Giants, along with the owner Sanjiv Goenka, met the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath to unveil their new jersey, featuring Pant's number 17. This marked a significant moment as they received blessings ahead of their new season.

The Lucknow Super Giants are set to face the Delhi Capitals in their first match of the season at ADCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam on March 24th.
