Rohit Sharma joins elite list as MCA gives him grand honor
After initially not fulfilling his immense talent and potential at the international level, Rohit finally turned a corner in 2013. It was the former India captain MS Dhoni who decided to promote Rohit as an opener in the white-ball formats. Since then, the veteran batter has amassed run after run for fun and has gone on to become one of the best white-ball openers the game has seen.
In the leadership department also, Rohit Sharma has carved a niche for himself by winning two ICC trophies: the T20 World Cup 2024 and the Champions Trophy 2025. The right-hand batter also narrowly missed out on winning the ODI World Cup 2023 and World Test Championship (WTC) Final 2023 event. On both occasions, India lost to Australia.
