LSG mystery spinner made an immediate impact in his very first IPL game. He was included in the first XI for Lucknow Super Giants' opening match against Delhi Capitals on Monday.
The match turned out to be the best encounter in this year's IPL season so far. There were many moments in the game that swung the favour of the match towards either teams.
Finally, it was Ashutosh Sharma's splendid innings that helped the Capitals pip the Super Giants by just one wicket. Rishabh Pant lost against his former franchise and soon after the match was seen having animated conversation with owner Sanjiv Goenka.

Meanwhile, the match saw a few heroes. One of them was of course, Ashutosh. The others were Digvesh Sharma, Manimaran Siddharth and Vipraj Nigam. Vipraj added a 58-run stand with Tristan Stubbs before Ashutosh's magical knock helped DC edge out LSG.
Digvesh who modelled his action on the West Indian mystery spinner Sunil Narine, had his moments in the game as well. He troubled DC skipper Axar Patel with his variations before dismissing him getting caught by the keeper.
He then took the key wicket of Nigam who was threatening to take the game away along with Stubbs. Vipraj Nigam was hitting the balls into the gaps, but in his quest to score quick runs perished. However, in this article, we will focus on Divesh Rathi and explore his possibilities.
Who's Digvesh Rathi?
Rathi is born in Delhi and has played just two T20s for the side. He played in the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament where he took two wickets in three matches. His big breakthrough came in the Delhi Premier League where he took 14 wickets at an economy of 7.82 in 10 matches.
He finished as the tournament’s fifth-highest wicket-taker and was praised for keeping even established names like Rishabh Pant in check. He has a few traits about him as a spinner. He gets turn and extracts a bit more bounce due to his action and his height as a spinner. His action replicates a certain Sunil Narine and he has a faster one up his sleeve as well. He was first scouted by the Delhi Capitals by the end of DPL 2024.
