Numerous experts and critics have said it billion times that Prithvi Shaw is the most talented Indian batter after Sachin Tendulkar. Right from Ricky Ponting to Brain Lara, Shaw was hailed as the next big thing in cricket. However, talent alone does not guarantee you success as you also need to work hard to reach the pinnacle. Recently, things are going haywire for Shaw, as the right-hand batter went unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction and was also left out of Mumbai's Vijay Hazare and Ranji Trophy squads.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) batter Shashank Singh, who played with Shaw for Mumbai, has shed light on what might be going wrong for him. Shashank had lavished huge praise on the Under-19 skipper while listing players who he felt could go on to be superb opening batters for India in future. Shaw was named alongside Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal, and here's what Shashank advised Shaw to follow.

"Prithvi Shaw is underrated. If he goes back to his basics, he can achieve anything. I know him since he was 13 since I've played club cricket with him in Bombay. If you ask me what's wrong with him, he has a different perspective on few things," Shashank said, speaking on the Shubhankar Mishra podcast.
"Maybe, he can change something about his work ethic, maybe sleep at 10 PM instead of 11 PM, maybe improve his diet," Shashank added.
"If he can accept and change some of these things, it would be the best thing for Indian cricket," Shashank said.

Meanwhile, Shashank's graph has soared after having a stellar IPL 2024 season. The right-hand batter scored 354 runs at a jaw-dropping strike rate of 165. He batted at number five and singlehandedly finished matches for PBKS. On account of his terrific returns in IPL 2024 season, Shashank became PBKS' first retention ahead of the mega auction, being retained for 5.5 Crore.
