Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper Rishabh Pant bagged yet another low score in IPL 2025. Chasing 216 runs to win against the Mumbai Indians, Pant scored just four runs off two balls.
It was a complete batting failure for LSG against MI, who succumbed to their fifth loss of the campaign. Chasing 215 runs to win, the Super Giants were bowled out for 161 runs.
None of the batters scored more than 35 runs in the complete innings, which reflects that it was a horror show from the batters. Ayush Badoni top-scored with 35 runs from 22 balls. Opener Mitchell Marsh scored 34 runs off 24 balls. Nicholas Pooran scored 27 runs off 15 balls, and David Miller scored 24 runs off 16 balls.

One Has To Comment If He Doesn't Score Runs - Aakash Chopra On Rishabh Pant
With the top-order batters failing, Rishabh Pant was expected to stand up in this game. However, he failed once again. He started his innings with a boundary and was dismissed off the very next ball, trying to reverse sweep. Aakash Chopra, in his recent video, has questioned his mode of dismissal and tried to decode the reason behind his consistent failures for LSG.
"The biggest story is Rishabh Pant's. What are you doing? He hit a four off the first ball and then got out off the second ball while playing the reverse sweep again. All of us say that one shouldn't comment on the way Rishabh Pant gets out because he scores runs like that only," Chopra said.

The former Indian cricketer further said that Pant might not be in the best mental space. He was roped in for 27 crores at the IPL 2025 mega auction, and Chopra hinted that the price tag pressure might be playing on his mind.
"However, one has to comment if he doesn't score runs, and he hasn't scored runs this year. I say he is a generational talent, but he has been extremely ordinary this year. The one good thing he did was that he came to bat at No. 4, but it seems like he is not in the right mental space, from the batting point of view," he added.
Mumbai Indians, with this win, have moved up to the third position in the IPL 2025 points table. GT, MI, and DC have 12 points each, while RCB is leading the points table with 14 points. PBKS (11), LSG (10), KKR (7), SRH (6), RR (4) and CSK (4) are the bottom six teams on the table.
