LSG speedster Mayank Yadav made his return to the team after recovering from an injury, achieving impressive bowling figures of 2 wickets for 40 runs against the Mumbai Indians.
After missing the last two matches, Mayank finally made a significant impact in his return against the Mumbai Indians, taking the crucial wickets of Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya. Unfortunately, his efforts were in vain as LSG suffered a 54-run defeat at the Wankhede Stadium.Â
Mayank Impresses, Zaheer Applauds
LSG Mentor Zaheer Khan praised Mayank's performance despite the loss, highlighting his execution on the field. He mentioned that the LSG camp has been in constant communication with the NCA regarding Mayank's recovery and the training programs he should follow, aiming to create an environment in which he can thrive.
"It's about going out there and executing, doing the job for the team. We've had ongoing dialogue with the NCA about his preparation," said Zaheer.
"There is a plan in place regarding how he should approach his training and what type of programs to follow. We are just trying to create an environment for him to flourish."

Zaheer expressed his satisfaction with Mayank's full involvement in the game, as he completed the entire 20 overs and successfully bowled 4 overs of his spell. He also mentioned that Mayank will continue to improve as the season progresses.
"I'm pleased that he's completed the match and that he was able to field for all 20 overs. With the processes he’s been following, I feel he will only get better. It's all about getting through each game while adhering to the guidelines set by the physios and trainers."

Speedster Mayank Yadav Breaches 140 km/h Mark
Mayank Yadav is known for his raw pace, which has made a significant mark in the past, though injuries over the last two years have hindered some major opportunities. Upon his return, he was able to bowl at speeds ranging from 134 km/h to 142 km/h throughout the match, incorporating some slower balls as variations. Regarding his pace, Zaheer indicated that it will continue to improve as he gains more match experience.
"His speeds are only going to get better as he plays more. Considering everything, I'm happy with how he performed, especially since it's his first game.
LSG will face PBKS next on May 4, following an extended six-day break, and they currently hold the 6th position in the points table.
