Sunrisers Hyderabad were bowled out for 163 after a relatively slow start against Delhi Capitals on Sunday in Vizag. After the top-order batters were dismissed rather cheaply, SRH found a new hero in Aniket Verma who scored 74 of 41 deliveries to help the visitors finish on a respectable total.
Sunrisers Hyderabad were heading into this game after a loss to Lucknow Super Giants in their previous game. They did not have a good start as they lost three wickets inside the first three overs and were 37/4 inside the powerplay.
It all started for SRH with Abhishek Sharma (1 off 1) getting run out in the first over of the innings. Ishan Kishan ( 2 runs off 5 balls) was dismissed in the second over of the innings and Nitish Kumar Reddy for a duck in the third over. However, the biggest wicket inside the powerplay was that of Travis Head (22 runs off 12 balls) who was dismissed by Mitchell Starc for the sixth time in T20 cricket. He gloved one to KL Rahul behind the wickets to a soft dismissal.

SRH was in trouble very early in the game. They then found a new hero in Aniket Verma who came into bat at number five. He played with an attacking intent right from the start. With wickets falling around him, he kept up the tempo of run-soring up for the Hyderabad side. He scored 74 off 41 balls with five fours and six sixes scoring at a strike rate of over 180. He added a 77-run stand with Heinrich Klaasen (32 runs off 19 balls) to bring SRH back into the contest. Once the partnership was broken, it was again a procession of wickets in the final phase of the innings for SRH.
Delhi Capitals bowlers were right on the money. Starc took three early wickets and provided the breakthrough inside the powerplay. In the final overs, he dismissed Harshal Patel (5 off 9 balls) taking his fourth wicket. He picked up the final wicket of Wiaan Mulder (9 runs off 10 balls) as Sunrisers Hyderabad were dismissed for 163. Meanwhile, Starc ended with 5/35 and is currently leading the Purple Cap race with 8 wickets from two matches.
Through the middle-overs, it was Kuldeep Yadav, who did not allow the SRH batters to go big and took three wickets as well. Verma was one of his three wickets. The right-hander perished in trying to take on the chinaman. All in all, it was a good effort with the ball from the DC bowlers. Capitals now need to score 164 to register their second win of the season.
