Rajasthan Royals (RR) are hosting the Gujarat Titans (GT) in match 47 of IPL 2025 in Jaipur's Sawai Man Singh Stadium. This is a must-win game for the Royals to stay in the competition.
The Royals won the toss and opted to bat first. A loss against GT will make them the first team to be officially eliminated from IPL 2025. They have just won two out of their first nine games.
The absence of skipper Sanju Samson who is missing yet another game due to his side strain, has disrupted the team combination. Meanwhile, Shubman Gill ( 52 runs off 32 balls) and Sai Sudharshan (26 runs off 20 balls) have given the Titans yet another good start in the season.

Shubman Gill Scored His Fourth Fifty Of The Season
Playing proper cricketing shots, the duo added 53 runs inside the powerplay. There was not a shot played in anger. The southpaw did ride his luck early on in his innings when Shimron Hetmyer dropped him in the second over of GT's innings. He was batting on nine then.
The duo negated the powerplay cautiously and piled on the pressure on the RR bowlers. They maintained a run-rate of more than 10 runs per over from the get-go. None of the Royals' bowlers were able to break the stand inside the first 10 overs.

The proud Sri Lankan duo of Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana have not been able to make the impact both would have liked. They have not repaid the faith the management has shown on them. Seeing the regular bowlers fail to give the side a breakthrough, stand-in skipper Riyan Parag was forced to bowl an over as well.
Gill and Sudharshan dominated the likes of Jofra Archer ( 17 runs off 2 overs) Maheesh Theekshana ( 20 runs off 2 overs) and Yudhvir Singh Charak ( 20 off 2 overs). The duo posted 92 in the first 10 overs with Gill going past his fifty as well.
Rajasthan Royals have opted to chase in this must-win game despite not chasing well in their last few games. They have lost their last three games chasing and one of them in the Super Over.
