It was a tough day in the office for Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper Axar Patel. First, they encountered the first loss of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) season against Mumbai Indians (MI). Later, the southpaw was also fined INR 12 lakh for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the game against MI at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
DC failed to finish their quota of overs within the stipulated cut-off time on April 13, resulting in a slow over-rate offense. DC failed to chase the target of 206 runs, coming short by 12 runs. Axar has copped a fine for the first time since taking over as DC skipper from Rishabh Pant ahead of the IPL 2025 season. The all-rounder first captained the side against RCB last year when then-skipper Pant had to serve a one-match ban for slow over-rule breaches.

"No need to worry much right now. I was happy with the way the pitch was responding, dew was on too. Had we held on our catches, we might've been chasing less tonight. Vipraj has been brilliant, confidence as a captain is high with three spinners are doing well. Kuldeep's season has been unbelievable, it's working out nicely for him.
