Cricketer-turned-expert Ambati Rayudu has responded to accusations of him being very much biased towards Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star MS Dhoni in the ongoing 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025). The former CSK player's heavy support for the wicketkeeper batter in pre- and post-match IPL 2025 shows has not gone down too well with the experts and fans.
Rayudu, who is one of the commentators for the Hindi language in the IPL 2025 season, has been subject to controversy for bringing Dhoni's name in every reference. However, despite the continuous complaints by fans, Rayudu responded to the allegations in a post on X, stating that he was, and will always speak in favor of the former CSK captain. The commentator further said that nothing will change his love and fondness for Dhoni.

"I was a Thala’s fan I am a Thala’s fan I will always be a Thala’s fan. No matter what anyone thinks or does. It will not make a one percent difference. So please stop spending money on paid pr and donate that to charity. Lot of underprivileged people can benefit," his tweet read.
For the unversed, Rayudu has played IPL under MS Dhoni's captaincy and capped off his IPL career by winning a record-breaking sixth IPL title - 3 with CSK & 3 with MI.
MS Dhoni's mixed form in IPL 2025 major concern for CSK
Dhoni's numbers in IPL 2025 season for CSK are not that jaw-dropping. The designated finisher for CSK has failed to win matches for his team like he used to do. In five IPL games so far, the 43-year-old has scored 103 runs at an average of 51.50 and at a strike rate of 153.73. What has majorly concerned the experts and fans is his intentless hitting in death overs.

In each of CSK's run-chases in the IPL 2025 season, the CSK star has not got going from ball one, which has resulted in the side losing games rather than winning. To make things worse, he has walked in at number nine or seven when the chase is half gone. CSK is off to the worst possible start in the IPL 2025 season, as they have lost four games from the five games that they have played.
