Engalnd have announced their playing XI for the second T20I against India. The match will be played at the MA Chidambaram stadium on Saturday, January 25. The visitors are trailing 0-1 in the series after losing the first T20I.
Engalnd have added pacer Brydon Cardse in place of Gus Atkinson who went for 38 runs of his two overs. Abhishek Sharma took a special liking to him during his knock of 79 off 34 balls.
England batters did not bat well in the first T20I in Kolkata. They were bowled out for just 132 after their batters failed to tackle the Indian spinners. More spin threat awaits them in Chennai which is historically known to be a spinning track. After the loss, England captain Jos Buttler said they will assess conditions for the upcoming games of the series.
"There was a little in the wicket early on, didn't expect that, but if you came through that phase it was a good pitch and a fast-scoring ground. Some really good players in there, we'll be better for the run-out. Jof looked good, superstar, looked threatening, Mark Wood bowled fast, exciting. We want to be aggressive and watchable, but venue to venue got to assess conditions. Enjoyment of the game is always there, I'm enjoying the environment. I'm a big McCullum fan, always have been. Enjoying working with him," Buttler said in the post-match interaction.

England Drop Gus Atkinson For Bryson Carse
The two teams have played 26 matches in the T20I format, with India winning 15 matches and England 11. India have won three out of the last five games including the first T20I.
England batters are expected to be tested in Chennai. They will find better batting conditions in Rajkot in the third T20I. The side might face a spin threat again in Pune in the fourth T20I and will get placid batting conditions for the final game in Mumbai. Like Kolkata, the second T20I in Chennai might not be a high-scoring one.
England having already named their playing XI will need to assess which bowler to be used in which phase of the game to get the results in their favour.
