The India vs New Zealand ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final is currently on in Dubai. The Kiwis won the toss and elected to bat first. Pacer Matt Henry was ruled out of the contest as he has not recovered from his shoulder injury, which he picked up in the semi-final game against South Africa.
India, on the other hand, are playing with an unchanged side. They are yet again backing their spinners to do their job in the big final. Meanwhile, Rachin Ravindra and Will Young gave the Kiwis a good start. Shami gave a life to the southpaw in the seventh over as he dropped an easy chance.
Ravindra has been the aggressive of the two scoring 16 runs in the fourth over of the Kiwi innings. Young has given him good support from the other end, keeping his wicket intact. The fifth over resulted in 11 runs giving the Kiwis a move on in their innings. The CT 2025 final is being played on the same pitch that hosted the India vs Pakistan match.

Rachin Ravindra Dropped Twice In First 10 Overs
The first 10 overs has belonged to the Kiwi openers who have given the team a solid start. They have set the platform for the middle and the lower-order to build on the good start. The two added a 51-run stand inside the first seven overs. Ravindra was dropped by Shreyas Iyer in the 8th over as he got an early life in his innings. He was dropped by Mohd Shami previously in the seventh over. Finally, Varun broke through in the 8th over trapping Young plumb in front of the wicket.
Earlier in the game, Rohit Sharma lost the toss yet again. India lost their 15th toss in a row, with Rohit losing his 13th as captain. However, he has done the job as captain and his players have responded to his call as well. After Mohammed Shami and Hardik Pandya failed to provide a breakthrough in the first five overs, Varun Chakravarthy was introduced in the sixth over of the Kiwi innings.
India defeated New Zealand in the league stage of this ICC Champions Trophy. However, the Kiwis have had the edge over India in ICC Knockout games. They defeated the Men in Blue in the Champions Trophy final in 2000. The Black Caps again won against India in the 2019 ODI World Cup semi-final and the 2021 WTC final.
