CT 2025: After body shaming Rohit Sharma, Shama Mohamed praises India's semi-final win

Congress leader Shama Mohamed, who recently was in news for body shaming team India skipper Rohit Sharma, congragulated the Men in Blue for thier semi-final win against Australia in the ICC Champions Trophy on Tuesday night. However, there was a twist in store as the Congress leader praised Virat Kohli, who scored a match-winning 84 runs.

“I am very happy today that India has won the semi-final match against Australia under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. I congratulate Virat Kohli for scoring 84 runs...I am very excited and looking forward to the finals,” Mohamed told news agency ANI.

The former journalist also showered praises on the Indian Cricket team through a post on X specifying on Kohli's performance in particular. Shama was particularly impressed with the former India captain's knock under pressure while chasing and also congratulated him on completing 1000 runs in ICC Knockout matches.

“Congratulations to #TeamIndia for their spectacular victory against Australia in the semifinals of the Champions Trophy 2025. A big shout out to @imVkohli for scoring 84 and to be the first player to score 1000 runs in ICC knock-out tournaments,” she said in her post on X.

Virat Kohli yet again proved there is no better player than him in the history of chasing in ODI cricket as his 84 runs off 98 balls enabled India an easy four-wicket win over Australia in the ongoing Champions Trophy semi-final in Dubai. Kohli played the anchor role in the pursuit of a 265-run chase and took the attack to the opposition. He got support from various partners such as Shreyas Iyer (43), and Axar Patel (27), and KL Rahul's unbeaten knock of (42) helped India eventfully get over the line.

Shama Mohamed makes a U-turn after Rohit Sharma controversy

For the unvsred, Shama Mohamed made a political remark when she openly criticised team India skipper Rohit Sharma for "being fat and the most unimpressing captain India ever had." The comments did not go down well as the Congress leader recived huge backlash from fans and other cricketing experts. Congress then told its leader to delete those nasty comments.
