Gautam Gambhir, the Indian head coach was part of the long meeting that was held at the BCCI headquarters on Saturday before India's Champions Trophy squad was announced.
After an almost two-hour-long meeting, the BCCI selection committee led by Ait Agarkar named the 15-member Indian squad for the tournament.
Meanwhile, recent reports have claimed that the Indian head coach Gambhir's request was rejected twice in the meeting by Rohit Sharma and Ajit Agarkar. This has made the media now spread rumours of a possible split between Rohit and Gambhir.

As per reports in multiple media outlets, Gambhir wanted Hardik Pandya as vice-captain for the Champions Trophy while Rohit and Agarkar wanted Shubman Gill. Ultimately, Gill was named the vice-captain.
There was another instance when Gambhir's opinion was rejected. The head coach wanted Sanju Samson as the specialist keeper while Agarkar and Rohit wanted Rishabh Pant. Pant then outnumbered Samson to the keeper's role.
Rohit Sharma Dismissed Reports Of Split With Gautam Gambhir
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma has dismissed reports of any misunderstanding between him and Gautam Gambhir. He said that both of them are on the same page and working towards the betterment of Indian cricket.
"We are both clear about our roles. On the field, Gautam trusts the captain's decisions, and any tactical discussions happen off the field. That's the kind of trust we have, and that's how it should be. “The conversations we have are mostly off the field. Whether it’s on the ground or in the changing room, once we step onto the field, it’s all about our performance during the game. We have a strong trust in each other, and that’s how it should be. That sums it up,” Rohit added.
Previously BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla also said that all is well between Rohit and Gambhir quashing all reports in the process.
“The stories are wrong and there is no rift between captain and coach. All is well between the chairman of selectors (Ajit Agarkar) and coach. This is all rubbish which is being talked about at the moment,” Shukla said.
“Rohit Sharma is the captain and he didn’t say anything on his successor and his wish to continue as skipper. Failures and success are part and parcel of the game and these phases are not new. He dropped himself from the Playing XI in the fifth Test,” he added as he concluded his argument.
Meanwhile, Team India have selected a 15-member squad for the Champions Trophy having covered all bases keeping in mind that they will be playing in Dubai and has picked the team based on conditions.
