One young fan approached Kohli with a question that many aspiring cricketers have wondered: "What should one do to become an Indian player?" “A lot of hard work,” he began. “Your father shouldn’t have to tell you to practice. You should wake up every morning with the desire to go out and train. It’s all about taking the initiative on your own.” He stressed that simply doing what’s expected isn’t enough—true success comes from pushing yourself beyond the norm. “If someone practices for an hour, you should do it for two hours. That’s the mindset that makes all the difference,” he said.

Kohli also shared an important piece of advice about setting higher standards for oneself. "If someone scores 50, you score 100. If someone scores 100, you score 200. You should always aim to double the benchmark,” he added. His words were a reminder that in the pursuit of excellence, complacency has no place. The goal is not just to match the achievements of others but to exceed them—to always set your sights higher.

This powerful advice from Kohli isn’t just about cricket; it's a life lesson about striving for greatness, being self-driven, and pushing your limits every single day. It’s this kind of mindset that has helped Kohli become one of the world’s best players, and now, he’s passing that same motivation on to the next generation.

Interestingly, the young fan was Kohli’s former teammate Shavez's son.

Kohli also turned down the chance to captain the Delhi side for their match against Railways, preferring Ayush Badoni to continue leading the team. “Virat was asked if he would captain, but he wanted Ayush to continue,” a DDCA official said.

The presence of Kohli sparked massive fan interest, leading the BCCI and JioCinema to live-stream the match. This is unusual, as typically only one premier match is aired, but Kohli’s involvement led to the change. Fans who couldn’t make it to Delhi will now be able to watch their hero live.
