Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are set to cross swords with Punjab Kings (PBKS) in match number 27 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) season on Saturday, April 12. Last year's finalists, SRH, are off to a rocky start in IPL 2025 so far, as they have won just one game in the five matches that they have played. After a blistering start to their 2025 campaign, where they racked up 286 runs against Rajasthan Royals (RR), SRH's batting has imploded rather than exploded in the rest of the four matches.

Meanwhile, PBKS, the IPL's underachievers, have gotten off to a tremendous start. They have won three matches out of the four games that they have played. Under Shreyas Iyer, the side is looking calm and composed. There is also clarity in roles for each of the players in the PBKS team.

With almost the first half of the IPL 2025 coming to an end, SRH is almost in a territory of must-win games if they don't get one past PBKS today. SRH's fearsome batting lineup has not fired in unison barring the first game. Apart from Travis Head and Heinrich Klassen, the rest of the batters have literally gifted their wickets while trying to be aggressive. To make things worse, their bowling has also lacked X-factor.

Mohammed Shami, Pat Cummins, and Harshal Patel have looked extremely patchy, with each conceding runs above eight runs per over. Leg spinner Adam Zampa has also not proven to be effective in the middle overs. With only nine matches to go, SRH needs to find some sort of consistency.

On the other hand, PBKS have looked far more assured in the batting and bowling departments of the game. The biggest find for them is the emergence of Priyansh Arya. The youngster played fearlessly against CSK and scored a blistering hundred. The message is clear for Arya from head coach Ricky Ponting - to attack from ball one. Skipper Shreyas Iyer has also looked solid at number three. The only worry for PBKS is the form of all-rounders Marcus Stoinis and Glenn Maxwell.

The Aussie duo have failed to get going so far with bat in hand. In the bowling, Arshdeep Singh, Marco Jansen, and Lockie Ferguson have looked solid. Yuzvendra Chahal is yet to hit his stride.
