Babar Azam wants media to Stop Calling him King

Pakistan Former Captain Babar Azam requested the media to stop calling him the ‘King’, Babar Azam has huge support in terms of fans from Pakistan and they always call him the King similar to Indian Fans addressing Virat Kohli as the ‘King’. Babar Azam who is going through a rough patch in his international cricket asked his fans and media to stop Addressing him as the ‘King’ adding that he is not there yet, Babar Azam stressed that he is thriving hard match by match thinking that as the newest challenge ahead of him. So when he was surrounded by the press for a few questions this is what he told. 

"Please stop calling me King. I am not King, I am not there yet. There are new roles for me now. Whatever I have done before is in the past. Every match is a fresh challenge, and I must focus on the present and future," Babar told media.

Babar Azam has been Pakistan’s best batter of the decade who has been consistent in his run-scoring chart averaging better against the big teams and is known for his solid knocks, This version of Babar Azam has immense Admiration by the fans who fondly call him the “King”, But in recent years especially in the 2024-25 his form irrespective of format has been inconsistent and he’s lately under tremendous pressure to perform, and with this lower mentality, he’s indeed thriving hard for a comeback in the Tri-series.

So all this in going in his head he let the fans know his mentality and what he was feeling and that led him to address this in the media. Babar Azam is finding his old self in this conversion phase of his which is key to Pakistan in the upcoming Champions Trophy.
