South African cricketer Corbin Bosch has been banned from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for one year after making a move to IPL. Bosch was picked up by the Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL. However, he joined the IPL after he was signed up as a replacement for the injured Lizaard Williams.

With the PSL and the IPL clashing this year, Bosch decided to withdraw from the Pakistan Super League, forcing the board to serve him a notice. Meanwhile, the decision to ban Bosch was confirmed by the PCB  on Thursday (April 10).

Peshawar Zalmi picked up Corbin Bosh in the diamond category in the Players Draft for PSL 2025. Bosch was replaced by George Linde by the franchise. However, his move to the IPL irked the PCB, who decided to ban him for a year to set an example for the future. This now means that Corbin Bosch will be missing the 11th edition of the PSL in 2026.

Corbin Bosch's Apology To PCB

The South African cricketer expressed his disappointment at having made the move from PSL to the IPL. In his statement, he said that he deeply regrets this decision and also asked for an apology from the Pakistan cricket team fans.

"I deeply regret my decision to withdraw from the PSL, and offer my sincere apologies to the people of Pakistan, the fans of Peshawar Zalmi, and the wider cricket community. I fully understand the disappointment caused by my actions" Bosch said in a statement released by PCB.
"To the loyal fans of Peshawar Zalmi, I am truly sorry for letting you down. I take full responsibility for my actions, and accept the consequences, including the penalty fine and the one-year ban from the PSL. This has been a hard lesson, but I am committed to learning from this experience, and hope to return to the PSL in the future with renewed dedication and the trust of the fans."

The PSL starts from April 11 with the defending champions Islamabad United taking on the Lahore Qalandars in Rawalpindi. Several international stars like David Warner, Daryl Mitchell, Jason Holder, Rassie van der Dussen and Kane Williamson, who went unsold in the IPL, will be playing in this edition of the PSL.

Meanwhile, Bosch is yet to make his debut in the IPL for Mumbai Indians but played as a substitute in the match against LSG.
