South Africa have received a huge setback ahead of their first ODI against New Zealand in the Pakistan ODI Tri-series starting from February 8. South Africa along with Pakistan and New Zealand will be playing a tr-series hosted by Pakistan.
The series serves as a dress rehearsal for all three teams ahead of the Champions Trophy. With matches to be played in Lahore and Karachi, it is also a good opportunity for the PCB to showcase their work progress of stadiums ahead of the tournament.
South Africa led by Temba Bavuma will be playing their first game against New Zealand on February 10 in Lahore. They next play against Pakistan on February 12 in Karachi with the final scheduled on February 14 in Karachi as well.

Klassen and Maharaj can only join the squad after their involvement in the SA20 ends with their Durban Super Giants. The Proteas have added as many as six uncapped players for the tri-series in Pakistan.
Batters Matthew Breetzke and Meeka-eel Prince, fast bowlers Gideon Petersand Eathan Bosch, spinner Senuran Muthusamy, and all-rounder Mihlali Mpongwana are the new additions to the squad for the ODI series. Fast bowler Gerald Coetzee was initially included in the squad for the Tri-Series, but was ruled out later on Wednesday.
Keshav Maharaj and Heinrich Klaasen To Be Available For Second ODI
Players will be added to the squad following the SA20 eliminator playoff between the Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Joburg Super Kings on Wednesday, with the squad for the remainder of the Tri-Series announced on 9 February after the SA20 final.
Keshav Maharaj and Heinrich Klaasen will miss the first match as they travel to Karachi on 9 February, ahead of the second ODI against Pakistan on 12 February at the National Stadium.
Other players like Marco Jansen, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Kagiso Rabada, Ryan Rickelton, Tristan Stubbs, and Rassie van der Dussen who are part of the Champions Trophy squad will depart for Pakistan on February 12.
