NZ vs SA 2nd ODI Highlights

An unbeaten ton from Kane Williamson saw New Zealand beat South Africa by four wickets in the second ODI in Lahore on Monday. The Kiwis in the process, now have won both their ODI matches and have qualified for the Tri-Series final on February 14.

New Zealand won the toss and opted to bowl first. They were taken aback by Breetzke's blazing innings initially when he scored 150 off 148 deliveries. He hit 11 fours and five sixes in his innings making the cricket world take note of his talent.

On the flat Lahore pitch, the bowlers of both sides had a tough time. First, they encountered a brutal innings from Breetzke. Jason Smith scored 41 and in te lower-order Wiaan Mulder scored a brilliant 64 off 60 balls to take the Proteas to a competitive score of 304/6.

Kiwi pacers Matt Henry and William ORourke took two wickets each as they were part of the Matthew Breetzke assault. O'Rourke was the most expensive Kiwi bowler as he went for 72 runs off his 10 overs.

Kane Williamson's Century Overshadows Matthew Breetzke's Brilliance

Meanwhile, the Kiwis had a good start to their chase. Will Young (19) added an opening stand of 50 along with Devon Conway (97) and gave the side the start they needed. Once Young was dismissed, former Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson joined the southpaw. The right-hander notched up his 16th ODI century as he looked in sublime touch with the bat. He scored an unbeaten 133 off 113 balls adding a 187-run stand.

Conway unfortunately was dismissed for 97. Dary Mitchell followed soon scoring just 10. In the end, it was Williamson and Glenn Phillips ( 28 Off 32 balls) taking the team home. The duo added an unbeaten 57-run stand to take the side home. Phillips after hia maiden ODI ton in the first ODI played another crucial innings for his side when they needed him the most.

New Zealand thus qualified for the final with the Lahore chapter of the Tri-Series coming to an end. Pakistan and South Africa potentially play a semi-final contest on Wednesday for a place in the final on Friday.
