Pakistan, on the other hand, is desperate to salvage some pride after a torrid tour that saw them lose the preceding T20I series 4-1 and falter in the ODIs. The Mohammad Rizwan-led outfit has struggled to adapt to New Zealand’s bouncy pitches and disciplined bowling attack. 

In the second ODI, Pakistan’s batting collapsed, losing their top five for just 32 runs while chasing 293 runs. Despite valiant efforts from Faheem Ashraf (73 runs) and concussion substitute Naseem Shah (51 runs), Pakistan lost by 84 runs.
