  • Shadab Khan - Islamabad United

Shadab Khan continues his reign as captain of the defending champions, Islamabad United. Known for his sharp cricketing mind and all-round prowess, Shadab has grown into a dependable leader.

His ability to turn games with the bat, ball or leadership makes him a triple threat. After leading United to glory in the previous edition, the pressure is on him to defend the title. It will be interesting to see if he can keep the momentum going.

  • Shaheen Shah Afridi - Lahore Qalandars

Shaheen Shah Afridi’s fiery pace and never-say-die attitude make him a natural fit for captaincy at Lahore Qalandars. He has tasted success in past seasons when Lahore won the title in 2022 and 2023 under his leadership.

The fast bowler is the only captain to lead his team to the PSL trophy in two consecutive seasons. With a point to prove after recent international outings, expect him to channel that energy into lifting the Qalandars back to the top.

  • Babar Azam - Peshawar Zalmi

Pakistan’s batting maestro, Babar Azam, will be seen leading Peshawar Zalmi. Despite an injury scare during practice sessions ahead of the PSL 2025, Babar remains the heartbeat of this side. His leadership will be key as the Zalmi chase their first title since 2017.

  • Mohammad Rizwan - Multan Sultans

Mohammad Rizwan steps up as Multan Sultans’ skipper, bringing his gritty determination to the fore. Known for leading from the front, Rizwan is now facing scrutiny over his T20 strike rate, but PSL 2025 could be his chance to silence the critics. Multan had lifted the trophy in 2021 with Rizwan at the helm.

  • Saud Shakeel - Quetta Gladiators

A fresh face in the captaincy ranks, Saud Shakeel, takes over Quetta Gladiators, replacing Rilee Rossouw. Saud’s appointment signals a new direction for the franchise. While less experienced as a leader, the lack of expectations could make him a dark horse in this competition.

  • David Warner - Karachi Kings

In a bold move, Karachi Kings have handed the captaincy to Australian legend David Warner for the upcoming season. Warner’s vast captaincy experience makes him a game-changer.

As one of the biggest international names in the tournament, he will look to turn around the Kings’ fortunes and add a PSL trophy to his illustrious career.
