The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to reportedly instruct the International Cricket Council (ICC) to not put India in the same group as Pakistan in their future events after a gruesome terror attack on April 22 at Pahalgam in Jammu & Kashmir. Not only that, but the BCCI vice-president Rajiv Shukla has also said that India will not play any bilateral series with Pakistan going ahead despite the government's vehement stance of not going to the Asian nation to play cricket matches.
It is to be noted that the BCCI refused to send the Indian Cricket Team to Pakistan to feature in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 event. As per the hybrid model, the Men in Blue played all their matches in Dubai. Notably, a home ICC event was played in Pakistan after 29 years. However, they failed to make it to the semis as they suffered heavy defeats against New Zealand and India.

Notably, a bilateral series was proposed by some of the experts between IND vs PAK. However, with the latest terror attack, BCCI vice-president Shukla made it very clear that there would be no bilateral series taking place between these two teams in the near future.

“We are with the victims, and we condemn it. Whatever our government will say, we will do. We don't play with Pakistan in bilateral series because of the government's stand. And we will not play with Pakistan in bilaterals going forward. But when it comes to ICC events, we play due to ICC engagement. ICC is also aware whatever is happening, they will do it."
Devajit Saikia, the BCCI secretary, sent his condolences over the Pahalgam terror attack, which resulted in 26 innocent lives being killed and several others injured.
