Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will be up against Mumbai Indians (MI) in match 16 of the Indian Premier League (IPL). LSG were handed a heavy defeat by PBKS in their last outing, while MI got their campaign back on track after two losses against CSK & GT by putting on a dominating display against KKR. Both LSG & MI have won just a game but have a golden chance to assert dominance if they manage to perform up to their full potential in this mouth-watering clash at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
LSG, were poor with ball in hand against PBKS. Their inexperienced bowlers were guilty of bowling too short to Shreyas Iyer & Co. & were duly made to pay the price. However, pacer Akash deep is set to join squad ahead of clash against MI. LSG's batting has looked patchy, with only Nicholas Pooran looking in great touch.

LSG started their IPL 2025 campaign on a losing note but bounced back in style against SRH. However, against PBKS, playing at home, the Rishabh Pant-led side looked mediocre with bat and ball. The southpaw himself is under immense pressure to live up to the huge price tag after registering scores of 0, 15, & 2 in the three games that he has played. Pant's poor form has catapulted LSG to not drive the game forward in the middle overs, despite the blistering starts provided by Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran.

Apart from Pant, even Aiden Markram has failed to get going at the top for LSG. LSG management would be hoping the duo start firing quickly, as the pressure is huge on Pooran to deliver all the time. On the other hand, MI managed to put in a complete performance at home against KKR. MI's scouting team yet again proved why they are the best in business after youngster's Ashwani Kumar's roaring debut. He picked up four wickets, and posed a significant threat to KKR batters.
Apart from Ashwani, even Deepak Chahar and skipper Pandya bowled well. The batting has also started to fire in unison, with Ryan Rickelton, Tilak Varma, & Suryakumar Yadav among the runs. However, skipper Rohit Sharma's form is a big worry for MI, as the opener has failed to cross 20 runs in three innings.
