Umar Nazir Mir Mumbai vs Jammu & Kashmir Ranji Match

Umar Nazir Mir, the Jammu & Kashmir pacer has grabbed all the eyeballs in the second leg of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 season. The campaign kicked off with several matches and with several high-profile Indian players returning to playing Ranji Trophy cricket. The Mumbai vs Jammu & Kashmir match is keenly followed with Rohit Sharma making a return to domestic cricket. He was unfortunately dismissed for just 3 runs from 19 balls.

The 6 feet four inches tall pacer dismantled the Mumbai batting lineup. He dismissed Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane and Shivam Dube to rattle the batting up which is struggling at the moment.

Mumbai have already lost seven wickets including the big names like Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shreyas Iyer and Shivam Dube. Three among the batters dismissed are in India's Champions Trophy 2025 squad and they have found it hard to tackle the red-ball.

It was not a good return for the likes of Rohit and Jaiswal back to red-ball cricket. Both are part of the Champions Trophy squad and will also play the ODI series against England as well. Nazir Mir hails from hails from Malikpora, a small town in Pulwama, Jammu & Kashmir. His tall dark frame as a pacer is frightening for the batters. It was in 2017, that Umar Nazir got his first taste of domestic cricket. He played the  Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy and impressed one and all with his pace and swing. The opposition batters failed to tackle him and he finished with nine wickets from five matches at an average of 15.

Now he is much more experienced in domestic cricket having taken 138 wickets from 57 matches at an average of 29.12. His best performance came against Services where he took 6/53. In this Ranji Trophy campaign so far, he has taken 11 wickets at an incredible average of 9.81. He has maintained an economy rate of 2.64 and strike rate of 22.27. His best so far came in the ongoing Mumbai vs Jammu & Kashmir Ranji Trophy game.
