Pakistan pace bowler Hasan Ali grabbed eyeballs with his remarks about the Pakistan Super League (PSL) potentially being more popular and drawing viewers away from the ongoing 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). It is to be noted that PSL and IPL will clash in the months of April-May. The PSL, which has often taken place in February-March before IPL, was rescheduled due to Pakistan's tour of New Zealand.
The 10th edition of PSL will start on April 11, clashing with the ongoing IPL 2025 season, creating a unique and action-packed cricketing experience for fans globally.

"Fans watch the tournament where there's good cricket with entertainment. If we play well in the PSL, viewers will leave IPL to watch us," Hasan told reporters, as per Geo News, ahead of the PSL opener.

Hasan Ali opens up about Pakistan's recent struggles in international cricket
The Pakistani pacer, set to play for Karachi Kings in PSL 2025, also addressed the team's recent dismal form in international cricket, especially their struggles in the ICC events in the last two years. In the recently held Champions Trophy 2025 at their home ground, the Men in Green could not even make it through the semis after crushing defeats at the hands of New Zealand and India.
Following the horrendous performance in the CT 2025 event, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) initiated plans focusing on the next two ICC events - the T20 World Cup 2026 and the ODI World Cup 2027. Hasan believes the team will bounce back after the recent setbacks as the players know which areas to improve.

"The current results aren't great, but we have fresh faces in the team and also in management who need time. The players know where they went wrong and where to improve," Hasan said.
