Shardul Thakur LSG Debut

Shardul Thakur's 4/34 Restricts Sunrisers Hyderabad to a Chaseable Total of 190 Runs in Hyderabad.

Sunrisers Hyderabad began to target big shots with Nitish Kumar Reddy and Heinrich Klaasen well settled at the crease, Lucknow Super Giants gained a fortunate breakthrough when Klaasen was run out. Despite dropping a catch earlier, LSG was happy to take the wicket.

Nitish Kumar Reddy was trying hard to attack the bowlers, but Ravi Bishnoi bowled him out with a well-placed length ball that hit the middle stump. Wickets continued to fall, and Abhinav Manohar was the next to go as Shardul Thakur picked up another wicket at one end.

Surprise Package in Aniket Verma

Aniket Verma proved to be a surprise package in the SRH lineup, smashing three sixes during his innings. His valuable contribution of 36 runs off just 13 balls was key for Sunrisers Hyderabad to reach a par total on this pitch. Digvesh Rathi dismissed him with a short ball as David Miller completed the catch. At this stage, SRH had 156 runs for 6 wickets at the end of the 16th over.

With four overs remaining, Harshal Patel and captain Pat Cummins were at the crease. Cummins made an explosive start by hitting two sixes off LSG's best bowler, Shardul Thakur, energizing the crowd. He didn’t stop there, hitting a hat-trick of sixes in the next over against Avesh Khan. However, Avesh won the battle by dismissing Cummins, who was attempting to hit a fourth consecutive six, finding a fielder in Digvesh Rathi. It was a brief cameo for the captain, as he left the crease with 18 runs off 4 balls.

In the following over, Shardul Thakur took his fourth wicket, dismissing Mohammed Shami with an off-cutter. With no more batters left for Sunrisers Hyderabad, they finished their innings at 190 runs, with tail-enders adding singles in the last over.

Shardul Thakur Shined Bright

Sunrisers Hyderabad ended with a below-par total of 190 on this surface. The pitch at Uppal was not as flat as it had been in the last game, but it was still conducive to a chase of 190 runs. If LSG can capitalize on the fielding restrictions and avoid losing wickets at regular intervals, this total is quite achievable. Stay tuned as LSG chases 191 runs against SRH at Uppal Stadium.
