14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi was roped in by Rajasthan Royals at the IPL 2025 mega auction for 1.1 crores. In the process, he became the youngest player ever to play in the IPL. Rajasthan Royals picked up the upcoming star and is looking to prepare him for the future.
Meanwhile, the Royals eked out a win against Chennai Super Kings after losing their first two games against SRH and KKR. Sandeep Sharma was the hero in the final over as he did not allow MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja to score 20 runs needed to win off the final over.
Sanju Samson is all set to return as the skipper from the next game as he has gone back to the NCA for an assessment of his injury before donning the keeping gloves. The batting lineup of RR has not fired in unison so far. In the previous game, it was majorly due to Nitish Rana's 81 off 36 balls that RR posted 182/9 which turned out to be enough in the end.

Meanwhile, RR coach Rahul Dravid spoke about the young batter in the pre-match press conference before the CSK match. He said that Vaibhab still needs to get acquainted with the team environment and get a better understanding of the game before he is ready to make his debut for Rajasthan Royals.
“He is training really well, and he looks like a really good and exciting talent but there are other equally good players as well and part of our responsibility is to groom him well, give him a little bit of time in the environment, let him get used to it and practice with the players, let him get a feel of the environment, all these are great experiences for him, rather than putting him straight in front of the crowd so it’s a part of the process we follow in grooming a player and if an opportunity arises we won’t be scared to play him if it is required," Dravid said in the pre-match press conference.
Currently, the Royals are placed ninth on the points table after two losses and one win from three games. KKR are languishing at the bottom of the table. RCB are leading the points table followed by DC and LSG as the top three teams.
